Hi! Welcome to the launch of Insight 2 Sight! It's been bubbling along without an official release for the last six months and I thought it was time to change that and share what I have with the world.
This blog is real, this is me facing my fears, finding hope where ever I am and trying to get through this recovery period without losing my sight or losing hope. This is my story of adapting to life when things are constantly changing around me.
My cornea graft has about 22 stitches that will remain in place for at least 12 months, I can feel them all day and they are quite restrictive. I am currenlty blind in that eye and we won't know how much, if any, sight I've gained until the stitches start to be removed. I have a rare condition called Pellucid Marginal Degeneration which has affected both of my eyes, so I have a cornea graft in one eye and poor vision in the other.
I started this blog as a way to get through the tough days, to write how I'm feeling and to document my journey to sight. As time went on I realised there was a need for more information on recovering from a cornea graft so instead of just doing a blog I thought I'd include some medical information, nourishing recipes and self-healing methods I've come across to help me remain calm, stay postiive and heal my cornea graft.
I hope that I can inspire you to keep going with you life journey. Together we can make it through.
